York Regional Police (YRP) have busted a major break-and-enter ring, charging 10 people with a variety of offences and recovering more than $400,000 in cash and property.
Following a year-long investigation into break and enters across York Region and southern Ontario dubbed Project Rise, they executed search warrants at 10 residences and one commercial property.
YRP seized $23,000 in Canadian currency, as well as $30,000 in U.S. currency, $85,000 in Bolivian currency and significant amounts of stolen property. If you were a victim of a break and enter and recognize your property, you’re urged to contact police.Paul Nkrumah, 34, of Brampton, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit, 11 counts of break and enter commit, two counts of break and enter intent, and seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime. Clayton McFarlane, 39 of Brampton, faces two charges of conspiracy to commit, nine charges of break and enter commit, break and enter intent, and two charges of possession of property obtained by crime.
Dumark Lindsay, 38, of Brampton, has been charged with conspiracy to commit. Darnyl Campbell, 39, of Brampton, faces a charge of conspiracy to commit, six charges of break and enter commit, a charge of break and enter intent, and three charges of possession of property obtained by crime. Andrew Dove, 33, of Brampton, has been charged with one count of break and enter intent.
Jordan Saccucci, 31, of Innisfil, faces a charge of conspiracy to commit and three charges of break and enter commit, two charges of disguise with intent, and one charge of possession of property obtained by crime. Kayla Almeida, 26, of Vaughan, has been charged with three counts of break and enter commit. Rennay Harris, 28 of Brampton, faces two charges of break and enter commit. Trevor Doust, 36, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of traffic in property obtained by crime. Phillip Nkrumah, 36, of Caledon, faces a count of possession contrary to order and a count of fail to comply.
As part of Project Rise, YRP shared information with the Windsor Police Service, which together with LaSalle Police Service, investigated several of the same suspects. Additional charges were laid, firearms were seized and stolen property was recovered as part of those investigations.
