Town seeks input on new communications strategy

Residents and business owners are invited to complete a short survey to let the Town of Stouffville know how you’d like to receive news on everything from Council decisions to community events.

“Connecting with our community is a top priority for us,” says Corporate Communications Manager Glenn Jackson. “The goal of this survey is to strengthen our community engagement and communication efforts with residents and business owners so that they all feel well-informed on municipal issues they’re most passionate about.”

Town staff will review and analyze the results of the survey and incorporate them into a new Corporate Communications & Community Engagement Strategy. The goal of the strategy is to provide citizens with the information that interests them most and deliver it in a way they’d prefer to receive it.

“Receiving input from residents, business owners and community groups is vital to ensuring improved communications with our community,” Mayor Iain Lovatt says. “Engaging in this kind of two-way communication with our community allows for further transparency and accountability for Council and staff.”

The Communications & Community Engagement survey is available at townofws.ca/CommsSurvey. It has 22 questions and will take about seven to 10 minute to complete. All answers will remain confidential.
