Juno-nominated artist Tyler Shaw is among the performers at this year’s Stouffville Holiday Market, an event featuring a local artisan vendor market, lighting displays, horse-drawn carriage rides and roaming holiday characters.
Attendees can even have their picture taken with Santa Claus. “Now in its third year, the Stouffville Holiday Market has become a favourite for residents and visitors alike,” Mayor Iain Lovatt says.
“Each year, our community is treated to new attractions that help grow the magic and this year is no different; from a light tunnel to the return of the carousel, I look forward to kicking off the festive season with all of you at this year’s event.”
To kick off the weekend’s festivities, the town is teaming up with the Village of Stouffville to Light Up the Village. The annual tree lighting ceremony takes place in Civic Square on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. The Holiday Market will run Friday, Nov. 24 through from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 9 p.m.
Shaw will perform on November 25 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park. The multi-Platinum-selling artist, music producer and actor has opened for international artists, including Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara, and toured with Selena Gomez. He will be releasing new holiday music this year.
The artisanal market returns with vendors offering handmade crafts and food throughout Memorial Park. Up to 30 additional vendors will be inside at 19 on the Park with Latcham Art Centre’s Beyond Craft Show & Sale. Beyond Craft runs from Thursday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 26.
The Stouffville Celebrates Holiday Series of events, including the Stouffville Holiday Market, is presented by Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP). The town expresses its gratitude for the sponsors who are helping make the annual event free for the community and for the support it’s receiving from the Central Counties Tourism Partnership Program.
This year’s attractions also include food and beverage vendors, LED swings, and visits with The Grinch and the Nutcracker Mime.
