Markham at the Movies presents The Eight Mountains at the Flato Markham Theatre.
A journey of friendship and self-discovery set in the Italian Alps, The Eight Mountains follows the complex relationship between Pietro and Bruno over four decades.
After meeting as children during many summers in the Italian Alps, the two reunite as adults to build a mountainside cottage, which becomes their refuge for reflection and reconciliation.
The film has received 15 wins and 19 nominations, including the David di Donatello Award for Best Film by the Accademia del Cinema Italiano (2023).
The movie is based on the 2016 award-winning novel of the same name by Paolo Cognetti.
