Stouffville’s Santa Claus Parade returns to spread joy across the community

The Town of Stouffville will kick off the holiday season with its annual Santa Claus Parade on Dec. 6, bringing lights, music, and festive spirit to Main Street.
The parade begins at 6 p.m. at Ninth Line and will head east toward Park Drive, moving through Stouffville’s historic downtown.
Around 50 floats and walking groups will participate in the parade, each representing a distinct aspect of Stouffville’s community. Examples include marching bands, local schools, and Santa Claus himself.
Santa’s elves will also join the procession to collect children’s letters for Santa.
Julia Troiani, events supervisor at the Town of Stouffville, said that her favourite part of organizing the parade is seeing all the participants come together to bring joy to the community.
“From hearing the sounds of the marching bands, to walking the route and seeing families light up with anticipation and holiday spirit, it is extremely rewarding,” she said.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the town will close portions of Main Street, Park Drive, and Burkholder Drive from 2 to 9 p.m. Main Street will be closed from Mostar Street to Stouffer Street, Park Drive will be closed from Main Street to Burkholder Drive, and Burkholder Drive will be closed from Frankin Street to Booth Drive.
The town advises attendees to remain behind the curb, stay on one side of the street, and wait to receive giveaways while enjoying the parade.
York Regional Police will patrol the area, along with parade marshals, security guards, and by-law officers, to ensure the parade runs smoothly.
