Registration now open for Walk for Alzheimer’s

You can help raise awareness of the more than 17,000 York Region residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias by taking part in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s.

The York Region #IGWalkforAlz will be held May 24 at Lake Wilcox (Oak Ridges Community Centre at 12895 Bayview Ave.) Create a team or register individually at https://bit.ly/YorkRegionWalkforAlz2025.

All money raised in York Region stays in the community to help the Alzheimer Society of York Region deliver vital programs and services to those living with the disease and their families.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. The Oak Ridges Community Centre is fully accessible and offers indoor washrooms. The walk will begin behind the centre at 9 a.m. The 1.5-kilometre walking route is scenic, gentle and paved. Based on ability, you may choose to cheer on walkers at the centre or shaded pavilion or walk the route once or multiple times.
