McHappy Day another huge success

When a child is seriously ill, it takes a significant toll on the whole family. Suddenly, life as they know it stops and they enter a world of worry and uncertainty.

Layer on the threat of COVID-19 and their situation becomes even more complex and distressing.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) provides a much-needed respite from the stresses of the hospital for families of seriously ill children—right inside the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

MSH president Jo-anne Marr and Community Engagement Senior Advisor Courtney Sorger joined the annual McHappy Day May fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities as community VIPs. They worked alongside the McDonald’s crew, creating a festive atmosphere and raising funds for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Markham Stouffville Hospital is located on the fourth floor of the hospital, down the hall from 4WF Children’s Health.
