Local mental health team opens doors to the community

Knowing that support is available can make a meaningful difference for those facing mental health challenges, and a growing Stouffville-based practice is working to ensure that help is within reach.

A rising presence in York Region’s mental health landscape, White Brick Therapy offers a broad range of counselling and therapeutic services to support individuals, couples, families and adolescents navigating emotional and psychological challenges.

Founded by Sue Morrison, a registered psychotherapist and certified hypnotherapist, the practice is led with a strong focus on trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and addiction. Morrison’s approach centres on helping clients heal from past experiences while developing healthier coping strategies for the future.

To mark its growth and continued commitment to the community, White Brick Therapy is hosting an open house and official grand opening ribbon-cutting on January 24 at 2 p.m. at its office at 12637 Tenth Line. Community members are invited to attend, meet the team and learn more about the services available.

White Brick Therapy provides tailored mental health support across a wide range of needs, including anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, addiction and substance use, adolescent mental health, women’s mental health, and couples and family counselling. Alongside traditional talk therapy, the practice incorporates holistic approaches such as mindfulness to support overall well-being.

Services are available in person in Stouffville and through virtual sessions, offering flexibility and accessibility. The team is trained in evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and biofeedback therapy.

For residents of Stouffville and surrounding communities, White Brick Therapy continues to grow as a trusted local resource for compassionate, client-centred mental health care. Those seeking support for themselves or looking to better support others are encouraged to attend the January 24 open house.
