There are a number of programs, workshops and events taking place at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre this season, including a brand-new exhibition, a sewing workshop and the returning family favourite event A Candlelight Christmas.

The museum’s new featured exhibition — Lace Up: Canada’s Passion for Skating — on loan from the Canadian Museum of History, tells national and local stories of the importance of major ice sports and features artifacts and memories from Whitchurch-Stouffville. The exhibit will be open until March 26th, 2022.

Sew Festive: Sewing Workshop runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 2nd. Participants will construct their own stockings following an instructor.

A Candlelight Christmas runs on December 11th at 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Participants will be led by a costumed staff member through the museum which comes to life with traditions of Christmas past.

“We’re happy to be offering something seasonal for everyone,” says Program Coordinator Ohan Stamboulian. “There’s no better time to visit your local museum than during the holidays.”
