The York Region Arts Council (YRAC) is thrilled to announce today the launch of the new experienceyorkregion.com website and the start of the York Region It’s All Here shop local promotional campaign.
“Experienceyorkregion.com is the go-to site to discover everything there is to experience and explore in each of the nine municipalities that make up York Region,” said Sergei Petrov, YRAC’s Executive Director. “There’s always something happening in York Region! The It’s All Here campaign that is debuting at the same time as the site launch, in partnership with all nine of York Region’s Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade, will help highlight the incredible variety and quality of our attractions, events, businesses and unforgettable local experiences.”
A vast terrain that stretches from Steeles Avenue to the south shores of Lake Simcoe, York Region is bustling with activity in every corner, in every season. From galleries and restaurants to attractions and shopping, trails and natural wonders, the It’s All Here campaign shines the spotlight on our local businesses and shows you can get everything you need right in your region.
“A recent grant has enabled the nine York Region Chambers and Boards of Trade to collaborate once again on a joint initiative that showcases all the great things to see and do as well as where to shop and dine,” said Karen Wootton, Executive Director of the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce. “The York Region It’s All Here campaign, is meant to further magnify the many shop local programs happening across the region and to illustrate that whatever you need it is likely in York Region… It’s All Here.”
To provide visitors with a full view of what’s on in York Region, experienceyorkregion.com features listings in eight main categories – arts & culture; attractions; events & festivals; food & drink; nature & wildlife; relaxation & wellness; sports & recreation and shopping – with York Region arts, culture and tourism-related businesses submitting new listings every day.
With a wide variety of events posted, there’s something for everyone. Fans of arts and crafts can visit The Heintzman House in Thornhill to check out the Artisan Craft Show and Sale. Folks who are starting their own business might want to take in the Entrepreneurs in Residence event hosted by the Aurora Public Library. History buffs can attend Rush to Danger, a talk by author Ted Barris, part of the Aurora Historical Society’s Speaker Series,
Additionally, experienceyorkregion.com will post a twice-weekly blog that introduces readers to the places, events and people who are making York Region a great place to visit. Experienceyorkregion.com will also introduce visitors to local folks who have a special relationship with York Region in our weekly feature called My YR.
