Connect with nature this holiday season

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) invites you to connect with nature as you celebrate the holiday season by taking part in events that include hands-on workshops in Stouffville.

Make Your Own Holiday Gift Wrapping is offered on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park Nature Centre.at 3291 Stouffville Rd.

Participants are invited to discover their hidden creativity and surprise family and friends by crafting beautiful wrapping paper or fabric. All materials will be provided and each participant will take home their own sheets of wrapping paper or fabric. The cost is $60 plus HST per participant. Register here

Family Holiday Wreath Making is offered at Bruce’s Mill on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Each group of two to four individuals will create a grapevine wreath adorned with elements from the Bruce’s Mill landscape. Additional elements, such as bows, will be provided. The cost is $60 plus HST. The cost for each additional individual is $15. Register here.

The TRCA is also offering several online events, including a four-part winter solstice series on Traditional Tanning and Leathercraft that kicks off Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Participants will create their own unique piece of fish leather, which can be used in crafting art, accessories or clothing. The workshop is led by Algonquin Métis visual artist, educator and Knowledge Keeper Diane Montreuil.
