Empowering future leaders through mentorship
Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) is a non-profit youth mentoring organization that creates the leaders of tomorrow through community-based 1:1 peer mentorship and mental health support.
YAY matches at-risk and newcomer youth aged 6-15 with fully trained young adult mentors aged 16-29 to provide consistent guidance, tailored support and a positive role model. Matches spend time each week engaging in activities that develop social/ emotional skills, resiliency, core strengths and leadership abilities.
“Volunteering with Youth Assisting Youth has been incredibly enriching for me,” says one of the YAY’s youth mentors. “Watching my mentee grow and gain confidence is rewarding and inspires me to be a better person. I love the sense of community we build together, knowing that we’re learning and supporting one another along the way.”
Serving vulnerable youth and their families across York Region and Toronto, YAY actively seeks passionate young adults to volunteer and help guide the next generation toward a brighter future.
