Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) Foundation’s Fall 50/50 Raffle is back. The lottery takes place online only with an Early Bird Prize of $1,500 and a guaranteed Grand Prize of $10,000.
The MSH Foundation 50/50 Raffle ensures that the hospital is equipped with all top-priority needs.
Thousands of patients and families depend on MSH every year. By 2030, MSH will serve a population of close to 500,000. This means welcoming as many as 6,000 babies a year, treating up to 115,000 patients in our Emergency Department and seeing the needs double for cancer care, surgery, and mental health. Every dollar raised through the 50/50 Raffle ensures patients can receive the critical care they need when they need it.
“Government funding isn’t enough to cover the cost of all critical life-saving equipment,” says Allan Bell, Vice President, Community Relations & Corporate Partnerships, MSH Foundation. “Generous community support of MSH Foundation’s 50/50 raffle is essential to provide exceptional patient care and will help bring a lifetime of care closer to home.”
MSH Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle began in October 2021 and has raised $272,630 to date. Community support has helped purchase a state-of-the-art echocardiography system for cardiac patients, a C-Arm used in our new Interventional Radiology Suite for minimally invasive surgery, and also helped equip the newly relocated Gale & Graham Wright Breast Health Centre to allow more patients to be seen in a comfortable space.
“This is our community, we need to support each other, and we need to receive care,” says Joan Bordash, 2023 Winter 50/50 Raffle Grand Prize winner and lactation consultant at Oak Valley Health. “I’ve not only been an employee here, but I’ve also been a patient. We should support this hospital to be able to receive the top-notch care that we provide.”
The Early Bird Prize deadline is Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. and the Grand Prize deadline is Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available for purchase at mshf5050.ca.
