‘Beloved’ Santa Claus Parade returns to Stouffville

Santa Claus is coming to town and you’re invited to greet him at this year’s Santa Claus Parade.

“We are thrilled to get the green light from the government to give our residents their beloved Santa Claus Parade back this year,” Stouffville Mayor Iain Lovatt says. “After hosting last year’s event as a drive-through parade, we are happy to provide a piece of normality again with our regular parade as we celebrate the holiday season together.”

The announcement follows the provincial government’s decision to lift all capacity limits for outdoor organized public events, including memorial services and parades. Capacity limits have also been removed in the handful of sectors where they had remained, including ski hills and other outdoor recreational amenities. Festivals and outdoor areas of fairs and rural exhibitions can also operate without capacity limits, but outdoor social gatherings will continue to be capped at 100 people.

The Stouffville Santa Claus Parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. on Main Street. Masks will be required when a physical distance of two metres can’t be maintained.
