“Cherish · Love of All” dinner celebrates inclusion
Cherish Integrated Services is bringing back its beloved “Cherish · Love of All” Christmas event on December 24 and 25 in partnership with Hollywood Cafe and its owner, Lobo Cheng.
“At Hollywood Cafe, we believe in the power of community and inclusion,” Cheng said. “Partnering with Cherish Integrated Services for the ‘Cherish · Love of All’ Christmas Dinner is a true privilege. Watching these trainees grow in confidence and share their talents with our guests is incredibly heartwarming. We are proud to bring you a unique dining experience that is more than just a festive dinner —it’s a celebration of the holiday spirit, diversity, and the potential in every individual. We’re honoured to host this meaningful experience once again and look forward to another unforgettable night of joy and community spirit.”
The organizers invite guests to enjoy a festive dining experience while supporting the CIS trainees with developmental disabilities in showcasing their skills and celebrating the season.
“Events like this are a beautiful reminder of how inclusion enriches our community,” CIS executive director Kyoko Leung said. “It’s inspiring to see our trainees take pride in their work, building confidence that will give them a hope for their future careers. We deeply value Hollywood Cafe’s unwavering support and their commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our trainees. Our trainees are excited to welcome you to Hollywood and showcase their unique skills and potential.”
Last year’s heartwarming celebration saw trainees stepping into roles as restaurant staff, including some dressing like Santa and Mrs. Claus, spreading holiday joy and creating unforgettable moments for guests.
“Due to overwhelming demand, we are thrilled to bring back this impactful event for another season,” said Leung.
Building on last year’s overwhelming success, the event highlights Cherish’s mission to empower individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities through vocational training. This year’s event sets the stage for the organization’s exciting milestone in 2025: the opening of a new Training Cafe to provide hands-on training and pathways to help secure long-term employment.
“We invite everyone to join us and celebrate the holiday season with purpose and joy,” added Leung.
Dinner reservations are available at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., or 9 p.m. at $29.50 per person, plus tax and tips. Part of the proceeds will support Cherish’s vocational training programs, and participating trainees will receive a share of the tips as recognition for their hard work.
This unique event promises delicious food, a sense of community, and a powerful message of inclusion, reminding everyone of the importance of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities.
