Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
On December 15, at approximately 12:45 p.m., York Regional Police responded to reports of a collision in the area of Bloomington Road, west of McCowan Road. A dump truck collided with a white Mitsubishi RVR.
The driver, a 70-year-old male from Georgina, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, to which he sadly succumbed.
The 21-year-old driver of the dump truck remained at the scene with no injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision or the driving behaviour leading up to the collision.
