Local franchisees are Canada’s top fundraisers for McHappy Day
McHappy Day 2025 was a heart-warming success, with our community shining amongst the brightest.
Local McDonald’s franchisees, Marcia and Todd Finlayson, were the top fundraisers across Canada, raising over $303,000 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Canada.
All year, but especially on McHappy Day, McDonald’s independent and local franchisees step up to engage their communities and raise critical funds for RMHC and other local children’s charities.
As one of the top fundraisers for McHappy Day in Ontario since 2017, Marcia and Todd work closely with their restaurant teams and the Fabulous 15 Fundraising Committee each year to give back to the community, such as selling Finlayson Hospitality Partners’ $5 coupon books, which have been adopted across the GTA and Alberta. They have also had success operating their Friends and Family program, along with selling McHappy Day socks and Digital Hearts.
“Thanks to our local communities’ support, we raised a record amount for RMHC. It will have a huge impact on the lives of families across the region,” Marcia Finlayson says. “Giving back is at the heart of what we do at McDonald’s Canada, and this total is a testament to the extraordinary efforts of our restaurant teams and the Fabulous 15.”
The Finlayson duo, their restaurant teams, and the Fabulous 15 didn’t accomplish this alone – our community showed up on McHappy Day. By ordering their favourite McDonald’s meals and menu items, our community made a direct, positive impact on local families with sick or injured children. They helped bring smiles and happiness to those who need it most.
