Latcham Art Centre (LAC) is bringing a world of creative possibilities to life this summer.

As part of Doors Open Whitchurch-Stouffville on June 1, LAC welcomes Stephanie Yee for a conversation about her artistic practice, her process of world building, and her work in like heirlooms, an exhibition bringing together three Chinese Canadian artists. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend the Artist Talk at 1 p.m. The community can also drop into the Art Centre any time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a special Latcham Saturdays art activity inspired by the exhibition.

LAC launches another exciting collaborative project on June 8 at Stouffville’s annual Art in the Park event. Visit the LAC tent in Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to try out cyanotype printing, also known as sun printing, using fabric and natural elements found in the park. The prints will be sewn together and stretched on two frames to create a large collaborative piece that the community will get to enjoy in the Library’s Fireplace Lounge. Everyone is welcome to contribute to this exciting creative project.

The fun doesn’t stop there; Summer Art Camp officially returns on July 2. Spark your child’s imagination as they explore various mediums, from painting to sculpting and beyond. Latcham Art Centre’s experienced instructors foster a supportive environment where young artists can flourish and express themselves freely. Friends and family are invited to a special art show organized by campers every Friday afternoon. Secure your spot today at
