Dozens of local ladies participated in this year’s annual Salvation Army Lavender Tea party which was initially started 16 years ago.

The ladies from all over the GTA area enjoyed good food, prizes and walks in the gardens. At the same time, many new friendships were formed. A lovely afternoon for all.

“I was overwhelmed and happy by the response of the invites this year. After a two-year covid hiatus, 47 wonderful ladies showed up this year to gather, share and give to such a great cause,” organizer Ristina Ferrari said. The Salvation Army is a charity close to my heart. The items donated were many and practical.

“The ladies all looked amazing. I honestly feel like I’m the one benefiting through giving with this tea party each year. It is so emotionally rewarding. A lot of these women are widows like myself, so it’s a good way to celebrate the ladies and have a great time.”

The August 19 event resulted in the donations filling up a large truck for pick up by the Salvation Army.
