Stouffville cyber safety program earns $10K award

KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation in Stouffville has received an honourable mention at the 2025 Canada Life Literacy Innovation Award, along with $10,000 in funding for its Project KnowledgeNet initiative.

Project KnowledgeNet is an experiential cyber safety education program tailored for older adults. Using realistic phishing simulations helps participants learn to recognize and respond to online scams. Each simulation is followed by personalized feedback, weekly educational emails with practical tips, and access to an online discussion group.

The program addresses the growing number of cyber frauds targeting seniors and has left participants feeling more confident and empowered to protect themselves and their families.

Learn more from the team, which will be at the Senior’s Active Living Fair on September 30 at the Stouffville Leisure Centre. The event is free for all seniors and others who want to learn more about the various programs and supports available for older adults.
