Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health supports Yellow Brick House

Yellow Brick House has received a cheque for $96,300 from Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health as part of its annual Giving Shelter Campaign to support women and children fleeing domestic violence.

“This partnership demonstrates the powerful role local businesses and community members play in ensuring women and children can access life-saving services when they need them most,” says Yellow Brick House CEO Lorris Herenda.

Last year, 50 Shoppers Drug Mart stores selected Yellow Brick House as their charity of choice. Funds raised through in-store checkout donations will directly support emergency shelter beds, counselling, and a range of critical programs and services that provide both immediate safety and longer-term support for women and children.

Since 1978, Yellow Brick House has been providing life-saving services and prevention programs to meet the diverse needs of individuals, families and communities impacted by violence. The organization is committed to providing a wide range of free and confidential support services to women and children experiencing abuse and violence and empowering them to transition to violence-free lives.

Yellow Brick House operates two shelters with a total of 41 beds and 10 cribs. For more information, visit yellowbrickhouse.org. Call or text the crisis and support line at 1-800-263-3247.
