For many of us, the new year means new year’s resolutions.
If being active and eating healthier are at the top of your to-do list, the library is here to help.
Here are the top five ways the library can help you reach your goals:
Books: Of course a library would put books at the top of the list. The library has many titles on healthy living, including cookbooks like Healthy Appetite, written by everyone’s favourite hot-headed, big-hearted chef Gordon Ramsay.
Videos: Along with the many books, the library has DVDs, including a great variety on the topic of physical wellbeing. Check out yoga superstar Rodney Yee’s videos which are great for beginners.
Snowshoes: The popular snowshoe collection is back. It can be hard to be active in the wintertime, but the snowshoes available for kids and adults can make getting out there a lot of fun.
Parks Passes: Ontario Parks Day-Use Vehicle Permits are available to the community by using your library card. These passes allow you to park your vehicle for free, and then enjoy the well-documented benefits of spending time in nature.
A place for reflection: It’s hard to find time and space to think and reflect, something which is so important to overall wellness. The library can be a place away from home where you can relax and spend some quiet time.
So, there you have it, the top five ways the library can help you reach your wellness goals. For more information, call 905-642-READ (7323) or email [email protected].
