Lots to discover at the library

The sunny weather and warm temperatures mean one thing: summer is around the corner. Whether you’re looking for your next read, a bicycle to borrow, or a game to play, the library has all these things- and more.

TD Summer Reading Club is reading fun for everyone. It is Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading club for kids of all ages, interests, and abilities. This free program is co-created and delivered by more than 2,000 public libraries across Canada. It celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators, and stories and is designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way—the key to building a lifelong love of reading.

Kids can get ready to Go to the Stars, as the 2024 theme is all about space. Over the summer kids can earn raffle tickets for logging in their reading times, completing weekly activities, and writing book reviews.  These tickets can be submitted for any of our prize options online each week for a chance to win.

The TD Summer Reading Program runs at the library from June 15 to August 24. You won’t want to miss the launch day on June 15, when the library will also showcase its Discover Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join the library team for an adventure-packed day filled with learning and excitement. Explore free arts and crafts, memorable performances, and demonstrations from Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services. Parks Canada, York Regional Police and more will be in attendance.
