Latcham presents Art in the Park
Summer is on its way, and with that comes a variety of thrilling outdoor cultural events. This year, for the first time, Latcham Art Centre is excited to extend its role as a community arts organization by hosting Stouffville’s outdoor visual art festival, Art in the Park, at Memorial Park.
Art in the Park is a vibrant community outdoor art show and sale featuring various artists in an atmosphere filled with creative energy.
“Latcham Art Centre is proud to be facilitating the 2025 edition of Art in the Park as part of its mission to inspire the community to engage with visual art,” says Latcham curator Jeff Nye. “This year’s event also features artist demos and art-making activities that are inspired by artists who are in exhibitions at Latcham in 2025. So, families will have an opportunity to see how artists produce their innovative artworks and get some fun hands-on experiences as well.”
Latcham Education Programs coordinator, Erica Joaquin, encourages residents to not miss this highlight of Stouffville’s cultural calendar. “Join us at Memorial Park for this can’t-miss creative event that everyone is talking about. You’ll get an opportunity to meet some of the region’s best painters, ceramics artists, printmakers, glass artists and jewellers who are working in a wide array of media and techniques. The artwork will be available for purchase, so this is a great opportunity to support artists in our community and to make long-lasting connections.”
Latcham staff have been working hard to plan this event, which will feature over 30 artists. Program Assistant Shailee Guerard looks forward to bringing these artists together. “It has been amazing to receive so many applications from such a broad range of artists,” Guerard says. “We can’t wait to see the artwork in person at a space that is so central to the community.”
Art in the Park takes place on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stouffville’s Memorial Park. Latcham welcomes everyone to the park to celebrate arts and culture in our community. Art in the Park is open to the public and free of charge. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in art.
