Latcham Juried Exhibition attracts artists from across Ontario
Latcham Art Centre will showcase its 45th Annual Juried Exhibition from March 16 to April 25. This exhibition continues the long history of welcoming artists of all levels of experience, working in any visual art medium, to share their work with our community.
Latcham Curator Jeff Nye says, “This year, Latcham will receive hundreds of artworks by artists from across Ontario, representing a wide array of backgrounds and approaches to artmaking. We never know what will come through the doors for jurying, and each year we are amazed at the ingenuity and talent that this exhibition attracts.”
To create its jury, Latcham reaches out to leading arts professionals, who are tasked with assessing the submitted works based on technique, craftsmanship, originality, presentation, and design. This year’s three jurors are Hannah Keating, Associate Curator at Robert McLaughlin Gallery; artist and educator Tim Laurin; and Niki Dracos, Gallery Director of General Hardware Contemporary. Each juror provides valuable insights into their decision-making throughout the selection process.
This exhibition also features a rare opportunity for the audience to get involved and help select the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. A ballot box is waiting to receive your vote until the end of the exhibition on April 25. Don’t miss this chance to see a wide range of incredible artwork being made in Ontario and to vote for your favourite.
