In early 2022, Latcham Art Centre released a call for submissions to artists 30 and under, with the hope of giving voice to the perspectives of new generation artists.
From this call, the group exhibition an intimate index was created. This exhibition features artwork by Audrey Hansen, Ramolen Laruan and Paula McLean, all of whom play with the idea of incomplete and personal memories to make their artwork.
Using diverse materials like resin, denim and photographs, the artists start conversations about diaspora, community, loss, and the ways we make meaning from the world.
Past exhibitions curated from this open call have included Home: Stories from Here and Away (2013), FaceTime: Contemporary Portraiture (2016), The Amended Landscape (2017) and Performing Action: Portraits in Protest (2018).
The intimate index exhibit will be showcased from July 8 to August 27. The opening reception is scheduled for July 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome.
