Declutter with Curbside Giveaway Days

Curbside Giveaway Days are back, which means it’s time to declutter.

You’re invited to place reusable household items marked ‘free’ at the curb in front of your home for others to take and enjoy. Giveaway items should still be in good condition for re-use or able to be repaired.

The Town advises you to keep items you don’t want to give away close to your house or inside to avoid confusion. You’re also asked to keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear. Place the items at the curb at 7 a.m. and remove unclaimed items by 5 p.m. Items left at the curb can result in a bylaw violation. Consider donating unclaimed items to charitable organizations instead of placing out for waste collection.

Those collecting items are asked to respect private property and not walk on people’s lawn or gardens. Don’t block traffic or driveways and don’t park illegally. Finally, only take items that are marked ‘free.’

Curbside Giveaway Days take place Saturdays, May 30, June 27, July 25, Aug. 29 and Sept. 26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
