Community Health Clinic expands to provide health care for more patients
To better support the community’s growing demand for accessible health care, Oak Valley Health’s community and integration program has announced that the Community Health Clinic (CHC) Stouffville will expand to a larger facility space on April 14.
“The expansion has been driven by the high needs for access to care in this region and also a desire to ensure everyone in Markham, Whitchurch-Stouffville and surrounding area has access to primary care when they need it to support their overall health and well being,” said Cheryl Osborne, Senior Director, Mental Health Services, Community and Integration, Childbirth and Children’s Services at Oak Valley Health.
CHC Stouffville continues to serve individuals of all ages who lack a primary care provider or cannot get a timely appointment. The new location—37 Sandiford Dr., Suite 301—features more than 2,700 sq ft. of space, including seven exam rooms and a better-equipped consultation office to provide comprehensive assessments. The larger, more comfortable waiting area is designed to enhance the patient experience.
In addition to in-person services, the clinic offers access to the Virtual Urgent Care Clinic (VUCC), available daily from 1–9 p.m. for urgent, non-life-threatening health concerns, including mental health issues. The VUCC serves patients of all ages.
“Our Community Health Clinics (CHC) provide care for individuals with urgent, non-life-threatening conditions,” Osborne says. “The CHC Stouffville offers unique services such as rapid access for children with providers who specialize in paediatric care, as well as adult services.”
Same or next-day appointments to the CHC Stouffville or VUCC can be made at Oakvalleyhealth.ca/community.
