Community celebrates Holi: The Festival of Colours

The York Region Indian Canadian Association (YRICA) recently hosted a vibrant and joyous celebration of Holi-The Festival of Colours at Angus Glen Community Centre.

“This vibrant event will foster community unity and showcase the rich cultural heritage of York Region,” said Regional Councillor Alan Ho.

The event marked the arrival of spring, the festive spirit of colourful traditions and the triumph of good over evil, offering an unforgettable experience for families and friends. It brought the community together for a day filled with face painting, music, dance, games, and delicious food.

“We organized a fun-filled day that saw participants of all ages join in the festivities, painting the atmosphere with laughter, excitement, and a beautiful sense of community,” said YRICA director Renu Srivastava. “The event offered an incredible opportunity to unite and celebrate love, joy, and the colours of life.”

YRICA is a dedicated organization focused on promoting Indian culture and fostering a sense of inclusivity and community in the region. It continues to bring people together from diverse backgrounds, creating memorable experiences that celebrate shared traditions.
