The Canada-HK New Horizon Lions Club has announced that the 14th Annual Charity Table Tennis Tournament will take place on Saturday, July 13, at the Markham Wesley Centre, running from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The event will bring together over 200 participants from 58 teams, competing across 11 categories, promoting sportsmanship, community engagement, and inclusion.

2025 Tournament Categories include Singles: Under 800, Harmony, TD VIP, Wesley VIP; and Teams: Altec Global VIP Doubles, Community, Super Duos, Dynamic Doubles, HK Inter-School Alumni, Lions Invitation

This year’s tournament supports two vital local causes: the Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Room at MSH. Organizers aim to raise $30,000 to enhance healthcare services and provide support for families in need across the community.

Todd and Marcia Finlayson, local McDonald’s franchisees, founded the Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Room at MSH in 2013.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this wonderful event,” Todd Finlayson said. “We are extremely dedicated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The work we do for the charity is specifically for the Family Room at Markham Stouffville Hospital.”

Whether you’re a player, volunteer, or cheering from the sidelines, come out and enjoy a day of excitement, community spirit, and giving back.
