Chamber Business Awards winners celebrated

The nominations are in, the interviews are done and the results are in. The Stouffville Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2022 winners of the Business Awards.

The award recipients were celebrated recently at what has always been a highlight in the annual business calendar of the area. But this year, they were announced at a long-awaited return to an in-person gala evening at Willow Springs Winery on July 13.

Winners in six categories were declared after an extensive vetting process that included nominations submitted from the community at large, evaluation of candidates’ submission packages and in-depth interviews with panels of award judges.

Award categories included Education and Training, People and Professionals, Sales and Service, Food Service, New Business and a Special Recognition award provided to businesses that have distinguished themselves as contributors and builders of the community at large.

That special category award as well as the Food and Service went to Christina Cooks Catering, while Palgong Bubble Tea, a new business effort shared by a couple of local families that saw block-long line-ups at their opening took the New Business award.

In other categories Stouffville Academy of Music and Dance took honours in Education and Training while Riverin Law showed why they deserved the People and Professionals award with dedicated clientele and aggressive expansion plans.

Redefined Finds, with their innovative, community engaging business model that combines retail, support for local artisans and do-it-yourself furniture restoration classes, took home recognitions in the Sales and Service.

Karen Wootton, Executive Director of the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce, was not only happy to be back in person for the successful night of celebration, but was effusive in her remarks about the winners.

“Stouffville has so much to be proud of in terms of a diverse and robust business community,” Wootton said. “Whether it is education and training, professional services, sales & service or food service, we are extremely fortunate to have a wide selection of exceptional businesses in our town.

“The nominees and winners or this years’ Stouffville Chamber of Commerce Business Awards are shining examples of what great businesses we have here in Stouffville and why everyone should shop local.”
