The Images 2022/2023 exhibition —  Adomania — showcases artwork by Stouffville District Secondary School graduating students.

Adomania brings together artwork by senior students from Stouffville District Secondary School as they re-enter the classroom, many of them for the first time since their initial year in high school.

Collectively, their artworks address the speeding time within the pandemic by looking at themes of class discussions, art history, music, and their lives before and during the pandemic. Individually, each piece reveals unique struggles that the artists face as they transition into adulthood beyond high school.

This exhibition — an annual tradition — includes painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed-media art and more, but the participating artists contributed much more than just the artwork. Each year students work with the Latcham curator to learn about the curatorial process, create marketing materials, install the art, and organize the opening reception, gaining hands-on experience in planning a professional exhibition.

This exhibition is on display at the Latcham Art Centre until Jan. 14.
