Honda Indy in Markham hits the finish line with a big win

The inaugural Honda Indy in Markham came to a thrilling end, with Marcus Ericsson taking the top step of the podium.

The race featured many memorable moments, including two crashes that changed the battle for the lead positions.

Foster started from pole position and led the race through its opening third before a devastating crash forced him out. Another serious contender, Kyle Kirland, also crashed and left the race about 10 laps later.

IndyCar Series leader Alex Palou started the race in 11th place but steadily worked his way through the field. With 20 laps to go, he was third, then moved to second behind Romain Grosjean with 18 laps remaining. He fought hard for a podium finish. However, he could not maintain the pace needed to challenge for the win and ultimately finished fourth.

Ericsson stayed comfortably inside the top 10 throughout the race and spent much of it in the top five. With only a few laps remaining, he passed Palou and Grosjean to take the lead. Ericsson held on to win by more than seven seconds over Grosjean.

Grosjean finished second, Will Power took third, and Palou finished fourth.
