Honda Indy misfires on opening day

Indy event starts off with a misfire, with repeated cancellations throughout the first day of the weekend.

Many Free Fan Friday attendees waited all day for racing action, but the fastest vehicles to hit the track were golf carts driven by service staff.

The action was scheduled to start at 9 a.m, with the Indy cars set to go out at 3 p.m.; however, delays were repeated until close to 6 p.m, when organizers cancelled the Friday event.

The updated schedule for the 15th is now 12 hours from 8 a.m to 8 p.m, to ideally accommodate the missed practices from Friday.

As of now, the Sunday schedule has not been changed.
