YRP Holiday Heroes campaign helps families this holiday season

The York Regional Police Holiday Heroes campaign is back and runs until December 19.

Since the program’s launch 29 years ago, more than 100,000 individuals and families in need have received holiday gifts and other essentials.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity and spirit our members show each year as part of the Holiday Heroes campaign,” said Mike Buchanan, acting president of the York Regional Police Association. “Their willingness to step forward and support families in our community truly reflects what this season is all about.

The community can donate new children’s clothing and toys, gift cards, non-perishable food, and hygiene essentials, which will be distributed through the Salvation Army, Victim Services of York Region, and the York Region Centre for Community Safety. Donations can be dropped off at YRP District #5 at 8700 McCowan Road.
