Stouffville Library hosts Truth and Reconciliation series
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, making September an ideal time for Stouffville Library to host a series of Truth and Reconciliation programs.
The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
Join a virtual author talk with Michelle Good on September 9; a Reconciliation 101 workshop with Heather Watts on September 16; and hands-on Orange Shirt Day Creation Workshops for children and teens on September 27. The month wraps up with a guided tour of the Jean-Baptiste Lainé Site on September 30.
