Providing warmth for those in need

Coats for Kids, run by two Lions Clubs in Newmarket, is reminding residents that many within our community struggle to meet basic needs for themselves and their families.

Last year, the Lions were able to collect 1,000 coats through the program and hope to exceed last year’s number.

Donations can be made at Stouffville Honda which is located on Hwy 48, just north of Stouffville Rd. The dealership is also helping the Stouffville Lions Club by offering a shuttle service to local residents who require a ride to go pick up winter items.

Stouffville Lions can pick up donations if anyone or any school decides to do their own drive. The organizers are looking for donations of clean coats, boots, mitts, scarves, hats, snow pants, and snowsuits for all ages.

If you know of anyone needing winter outerwear, items are available no questions asked and all for free at 17030 Yonge Street from 10 am to 1 pm every Saturday until Dec 30, 2023.  If you belong to a school Facebook group, please share this message.

Please clean out your closets and donate to others in need this holiday season.
