The Stouffville Chamber of Commerce has received a grant to help develop and promote initiatives in the Whitchurch-Stouffville community that support shopping locally.
“We are so grateful to receive this grant,” said Karen Wootton, Executive Director, Stouffville Chamber of Commerce. “It provides us with the funds required to do even more to help the local businesses and our community as a whole. This winter we invite all residents to discover/rediscover Stouffville and all the wonderful things it has to offer.”
Some programs that are scheduled include:
A series of videos that showcase a variety of things to see and do in Stouffville as well as some of the places to dine and shop. All videos are available on the recently-launched community website www.discoverstouffville.ca.
A Holiday Gift Guide spotlighting over 60 businesses which will distributed to all residents via the Holiday issue of OTR magazine, with an electronic version available for download at www.discoverstouffville.ca.
A Self With An Elf Social Media photo contest will run up to December 24. Be on the lookout for the elves that will be out and about this holiday season visiting local businesses. Consumers are invited to take a selfie with an elf, then submit it online for a chance to win a prize.
Shop Local Bingo contest will launch on boxing day and encourages community engagement and post-holiday shopping. This contest will run up until January 24th, 2022.
All prizes for both contests are from local merchants.
And finally on January 21 and 22, Wintersong music festival returns to Stouffville. It will feature more than 50 performers across multiple venues including restaurants, retail shops and community spaces, and will be free for the community to attend.
