Stouffville District Secondary School presents Beetlejuice Jr.
After nearly 20 years, excitement is building at Stouffville District Secondary School as the Drama Club prepares to bring a musical back to the stage.
Directed by Haylei Cockburn, the show features students in Grades 9–12, many of whom connected with SDSS through Grade 8 collaborations. As a club-based production, students have been rehearsing since October, dedicating multiple lunch hours and evenings each week.
Beetlejuice Jr. performances will take place at Stouffville District Secondary School on May 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. The run time is approximately 1.5 hours. Tickets are available in advance through School Cash Online or by cash at the door (limited seating).
With music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by the Tony Award–nominated pair Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice was nominated for eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best New Musical.
Beetlejuice Jr. is part of Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior collection of musicals—adapted versions of popular shows designed for younger performers. The production is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
