New partnership to enhance Strawberry Festival
Mark your calendars for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival.
The hallmark event takes place Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29. Don’t miss the grand finale: Canada Day fireworks that will light up the sky on Tuesday, July 1.
The Town of Stouffville and the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors are teaming up to strengthen and grow the event, which has been bringing the community together for more than 40 years.
The collaboration, which marks a new chapter in the festival’s history, is designed to address challenges in volunteer recruitment and enhance the operational capacity of the cherished tradition. The partnership will combine the resources and expertise of the Town of Stouffville with the passion and dedication of the festival’s Board of Directors.
The Town will manage critical operational aspects of the festival, including entertainment, sponsorships, marketing, vendor coordination and technical production. The Board will continue to oversee such legacy events as the Pancake Breakfast, Citizen and Sports Person of the Year awards, and Sandra Stronach Red Berry Café.
“Our shared responsibility model ensures that the Strawberry Festival will not only maintain its unique charm but also benefit from the resources and capabilities of the Town,” says Rob Braid, Commissioner of Community Services for the Town of Stouffville.
“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to preserving and enhancing this treasured community tradition. Through this new partnership, vendors and sponsors can look forward to opportunities for engagement, visibility and collaboration as planning for the 2025 event gets underway.”
“As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we are confident that this partnership will secure the festival’s legacy as a cornerstone of Stouffville’s summer events,” says Cornelia Hunter-Burns, President of the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors.
