3D Design and Cricut Creations at the library

The bright days of spring are here, and the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library has several exciting new programs for all to enjoy.

Families can work together to create a work of art with their baby in Baby Craft (ages 0-11 months). This program will be held on May 12 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more information and to register, visit townofws.ca/active using barcode 27356.

Teen programs are for elementary and high school students ages 13-19 and are always free. May 1 – 7 marks Youth Week and the library team will be celebrating with two unique drop-in programs in the Library’s Makerspace: Perler Bead your Favourite Character on May 4 from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and 3D Design Drop-In on May 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information contact [email protected].

On May 3 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. teens can learn why it is important to write a cover letter. This workshop will review the basics of cover letter writing, and then help teens leverage their volunteer experiences and personality into a great cover letter. For adults, there will be two Cricut Creations programs offered. Cricut 101, held on May 11, is an entry-level course that teaches participants of how to set up and use a Cricut machine.  Supplies will also be provided for creating vinyl stickers. DIY Cricut Tote Bag, held on May 16, is for those participants who are familiar with a Cricut machine and are looking for a new project. Supplies will be provided for a basic tote bag and vinyl to make it customized. Register for this program at townofws.ca/active using barcode 27340.
