York Region District School Board education director Louise Sirisko announced the appointment of Clayton La Touche as associate education director, effective Aug. 1.

“Clayton is an experienced educational leader who will bring great expertise and strategic insight and benefit our students and staff members,” said Sirisko. “I’m proud to be appointing a strong leader who will work with our staff, students and their families to implement our strategic priorities and improve student achievement and well-being.”
The appointment follows a vacancy created as a result of the retirement of associate director Leslie Johnstone. La Touche currently serves as human resource services and operations education superintendent at the school board. He began teaching in 1994 and has served in many leadership positions including vice-principal, principal and superintendent with responsibility for families of schools. As one of three associate directors in the organization, La Touche will assume responsibility for supporting overall organizational goals, needs and priorities.
