Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville municipal law enforcement manager, Linda Mainprize passed away suddenly on June 2.
“On behalf of the town and council, I offer our deepest condolences to her family and friends,” said town Chief Administrative Officer Roman Martiuk. “She played a large role here and the news has had a profound effect on our family here at the town.”
Mainprize started her career at York Regional Police and worked as a bylaw enforcement officer at Richmond Hill before joining Whitchurch-Stouffville in 2001 as municipal bylaw enforcement/property standards officer. Most recently, she was also acting as customer service manager.
“Linda was like no other,” said Martiuk. “She was extremely hard working, but she always had a smile on her face. Linda loved what she did for a living and always had the best interest of the town’s citizens at heart. We are all shocked by the news.”
Flags at all Stouffville town facilities will fly at half-mast from June 4-8 in her honour.
