Although the physical library is closed this month, the digital library will always be open and available says staff at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library. You can access eBooks and eAudiobooks through the CloudLibrary or RBDigital app as well as access online resources like Lynda.com, Mango Language Learning, and Tumblebooks through the library website. Online resources like Gale Virtual Reference Library, World Book and Britannica online encyclopedia can help with homework and research projects. They’re located on the Online Databases page under the Digital Library heading on the library website.
Just a reminder, the catalogue is currently unavailable, so items won’t be able to be renewed or any holds placed until the library reopens.
As of March 1, the temporary library will be completely moved out of the Mostar location, so all library items must be returned to the return bins at 2 Park Dr. The outdoor return bins will be removed from the Mostar location on Feb. 28 and all library items due after March 1 should be returned to the return bins at the Library and Leisure Centre at 2 Park Dr.
The reopening of the library will be celebrated with an open house event on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All of Stouffville is invited to come and check out the newly expanded library. There will be free events for children of all ages throughout the day and adults will be able to try out the new digital media equipment such as the Green Screen, 3D printer and recording studio equipment. Also, make sure you check out the new self check-in machine and sorter in action.
