Suspects Arrested After Four People Injured In Markham Bank Robbery

York Regional Police are investigating after 4 employees were injured during a bank robbery in Markham Wednesday night.

First Responders were called to an RBC Royal Bank, located near 16th Avenue and Markham Road just after 8 p.m.

Police reported that two people were stabbed, and two others suffered head injuries. All those injured were employees at the bank.

One of the stabbing victims was rushed to a trauma centre in serious condition, while the others were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police 3 suspects were sought who were possibly armed with knives and gun. The suspects fled on foot from the scene.

Shortly after, with the assistance of the York Region Police K9 unit, the suspects were located and taken into custody.

Residents are advised to avoid the area for the next few hours as there will be a large police presence as they continue to search and collect evidence.
