The Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library is ready to kick off the summer with some big events being offered in June.
Things begin with the official grand re-opening of the Leisure Centre and Library on June 2. There will be lots of events all day, such as Story Walks, 3D printing demonstrations and a Book Art program with Latcham Art Centre to celebrate the official completion of the expansion project.
A special performance by the Duelling Dames, for ages five and up, is scheduled for 6:30-7:10 p.m. on June 28.
The annual Strawberry Tea and Storytime program kicks off Strawberry Festival weekend on June 29. The program costs $5 per child with multiple sessions for ages three to six and a session in the afternoon for ages seven and up. All participants are encouraged to wear pink or red while the group enjoys stories, strawberries and cake with whipped topping.
Almost all of the children’s programs happening throughout June are free, drop-in programs. Many brand-new library programs for kids of different ages include Storytime in Mandarin; Yum-Yum Time, for ages two to four; and Wiggle and Jiggle, for ages three to four.
Visit the library website at wsplibrary.ca for more details, times and dates of the programs.
