Stouffville Reads 2018 is almost upon us.

This year’s event will be held at Spring Lakes Golf Club on Oct. 18 with doors opening at 6 p.m. The evening will feature a silent auction, hors-d’oeuvres and the five community champions presenting their case for which book all of Whitchurch-Stouffville should be reading. All the books championed are available at the library, so you can start reading now and make an informed choice from the final titles.

Stouffville Reads is an annual community event hosted by the library to encourage friendly competition and the love of reading. This year’s theme is heroes.

The community champions and their nominations are: Keith Acton (Quinn: The Life of a Hockey Legend by Dan Robson); Michael Frankfort (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams); Joanne George (Red Wolf by Jennifer Dance); Susan Whitebread (Larry’s Party by Carol Shields); and Julie Williams (The Alice Network by Kate Quinn).

You can find copies of the titles at the library in print, audio or as an eBook. Voting can be done online or in person at the library.

Tickets for Stouffville Reads ($30 each) are available for purchase at the library. Visit wsplibrary.ca for more information about the event.
