In celebration of Police and Emergency Preparedness Week, York Regional Police played host to a free open house at the Community Safety Village.
Activities included police motorcycle demonstrations, meet and greets with members of the Canine and Emergency Response Units, a kid-sized fire truck, motorized car rides and arts and crafts. A free barbecue was held for children aged 12 and under.
Local fire services and equipment were also on hand to provide on-site demonstrations, including a live fire demo, a tornado-storm simulator and emergency preparedness activities. Families were also able to pract
ise a home escape.
