Pink Shirt Day is a global movement.
It is a global movement that calls for the end of bullying in schools, offices, homes and online.
Over the month of February and throughout the year, Pink Shirt Day serves as a reminder that we must choose kindness and not bully others.
Pink Shirt Day aims to raise awareness of these issues, as well as raise funds to support programs that foster children’s healthy self-esteem, such as Kids Help Phone, KidSafe Project, and Stigma-Free Society.
In 2007, David Shepherd and Travis Price along with some of their teenage friends organized a high-school protest against bullying by wearing pink to support a grade nine boy who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
A dozen years later, and thousands across the country still wear pink on Pink Day to stand up against bullying.
