Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) recently unveiled its 2019-2022 strategic plan.
“We have undertaken an extensive and collaborative consultation process resulting in a bold new vision, mission and strategic plan for MSH,” said Jo-anne Marr, MSH CEO. “This engaged process included staff, physicians, volunteers, members of the hospital and foundation boards and, most importantly, patients.
The new strategic plan builds on the growth and success that MSH has achieved to date and positions it well to seize the opportunities for improved patient care that lie ahead. The new mission and vision statements symbolize a renewed commitment to patients and to the community.
“The vision, Care Beyond our Walls: Connecting with our Community, ensures we will drive toward care for our patients that is beyond the physical walls of the hospital and compels us to seek out innovative ways to deliver that care,” said Marr.
The plan also includes a transformative new mission statement for the hospital – Honoured to care. Over the next three years, MSH will focus its efforts on a number of specific objectives under three distinct areas: delivering an extraordinary patient experience, embracing the community and empowering our people. An emphasis on those areas will challenge the hospital to ensure patients and their families receive care that is both seamless and integrated.
